BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE GREEN FIRE SERIES (GFS)
Title: The Green Fire Series by Dr. Isaac and Dr. Ethel Abe
The global Church is experiencing the outcomes of faulty Christian foundation among her members and leadership. Take for instance cases where church members were fed with rats, snakes, petrol, grasses and sprayed with insecticides in the name of God. Consider the rising rate of divorce, immorality, fraud and complacency recorded among ministers and church people globally. The list is endless and the reproach that such has drawn to the Faith troubles those who have genuine encounters with the Lord Jesus Christ.
The fundamental principles of Christ, which is the foundation of faith for early believers, has been buried deep by all kinds of doctrines, teachings and principles in contemporary times. The doctrines of Christianity and the foundations of the Faith are under attack. Many people do not know the difference between the doctrines of Our Lord Jesus Christ and those of their local assemblies anymore. To address the issues of doctrine and foundation, we set out to understand the Lord’s view through the scriptures since 1996. We have been digging deep into scriptures with praying and fasting to arrive at a place where unnecessary doctrinal controversies could be minimized or outrightly erased.
The Green Fire Series (GFS), a collection of seven mini-books based on the fundamental doctrines of Christ as listed in the book of Hebrews 6 vs 1-3 is the outcome of our search. We found these doctrines – repentance from dead works, faith towards God, baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead and eternal judgement as the foundations for effective and rewarding Christian living. Inappropriate disposition towards them by Christians of today has resulted in most of the problems facing individuals, families, Church and conversely, nations.
The challenge is that many Believers have problem in having vibrant and sustainable relationships with God. They have problems understanding the way He does things (His Ways) and his views about things (His Thoughts) (Is. 55 vs 8). These problems can be traced to faulty foundations. David by the Spirit asked an open-ended question in Psalms 11 vs 3, asked; “If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Several answers have been given to this question. Some people suggest that what the righteous should do is to pull down the ‘building’ with faulty foundation while others suggest that nothing should be done. The GFS is a pseudonym coined from Moses’ burning bush experience where the bush burnt but the leaves were still green. Our experience has been that believers who submitted themselves to the truths documented here in the GFS literally experience the ‘burning away of the ‘flesh’ while their souls are renewed. People literally experience spiritual growth as a result of the understanding received from these teachings. In this context, we believe that a believer’s foundation could be repaired, restored and or rebuilt while they go about their everyday duties (while the ‘building’ is standing). GFS is written to restore proper foundations for vibrant relationship with God among believers of the contemporary times. Foundation laying needs expertise, hence, for over twenty years; we have sat under the tutelage of the blessed Holy Spirit to receive some skills and wisdom in foundational laying. From experience, we understand that these doctrines must be taught sequentially, in the order that they are written in Hebrews 6 for effectiveness.

Jesus, speaking to His disciples said “… men always ought to pray and not to lose heart …” (Luk. 18:1). This scripture was a puzzle and a challenge to me for a long time because; I could not understand how a person could pray AWAYS. I used to pray at least three times daily, but the ALWAYS challenge was always starring me in the face. I thought I was alone in this boat until I began to hear many people say the same thing and even worse. For instance, someone said to me, “When I go pray, I hardly do two minutes and I feel that I am talking to myself and God is too far from me. Does He even hear me?” There are so many others whose stories about prayer are not different from this. The question is why so. If Jesus said to pray always, why should a child of God pray for two minutes in a day and be done with prayer? Why is prayer such an uphill task? You will find the answer in this book.
Our lives as believers reflect our experiences with God and our victories over the enemy and his works particularly sin and lawlessness. “I don’t know how to go beyond these sins that I committed many years ago. I have confessed them to God and asked Him to forgive me, but each time I go into prayer, I literally hear Satan condemning and accusing me of them; how do I overcome this and pray without condemnation?” These are the common stories that we hear these days even among people in ministry. Some people say that they have repented for a long time now yet they are struggling with habits and lifestyle issues unsuccessfully. The answer is simply in understanding what really happened when they ‘repented’.
Read this book and find answers to most of the questions that have turned many people to ‘wheel-barrow Christians’
Daily living is by faith and everyone unconsciously exercises faith in the things around them without thinking about their possession or otherwise of faith. However, when it concerns God, individuals lose it in not knowing how to connect to Him. This could be as a result of the fact that faith does not work with the senses of man. Therefore, people sometimes try to psych themselves into fussing about the need to have faith. The merry-go-round around this doctrine ends up in frustration because of the wrong approaches to it. One woman said “I understand my intellect and how it works, other than that exercising myself in things that are not making sense don’t make meaning to me”. This, she said, concerning faith.
Until we understand the doctrine of repentance from dead works (See our book on Repentance), comprehension of the principles behind faith towards God may remain impossible. The essence of repentance is to draw our attention away from the old way of doing things and turn to God by way of relationship. Actually, repentance from sin is the first spiritually acceptable act of faith towards God. The scripture says that the prayer of a sinner is an abomination before God (Prov. 15 vs 8); but will not cast away, anyone that comes to Him (Jn. 6 vs 37), even in repentance. It takes faith in the Gospel to repent and that faith starts with the knowledge that; God is (Heb. 11:6).
Relating with God is only made possible by faith, not faith for THINGS, but FAITH TOWARDS GOD! Please read this book, it will revolutionalise your relationship with God.
The word baptism came from the root word ‘bapto’, which means to dip, dip under, sink, dip in, immerse, and plunge or to cover wholly with liquid. The reason for baptism must be to affect the matter or entity being baptised with the nature of the entity into which the matter is being immersed. For instance, the tie-and-dye business which involves designing and colouring of fabrics is a good example of baptism.
A material that needs to be baptised must have the capacity to be impacted upon by the substance into which it is baptised. Ezekiel 36 vs. 26-29a speaks of God removing the heart of stone and giving a heart of flesh. The heart of a man that has not repented to God (read the Books on repentance from dead works and faith towards God) could be called a stony heart, and baptizing such a person would seem like pouring water upon stone. There will be no impact on such a heart. A heart of stone cannot carry the life of God or the Holy Spirit of God. The life of God cannot permeate a heart of stone. It cannot retain God or the nature of God.
Please read this book, you will not be the same again.
Although laying on of hands is a scriptural way of communicating blessings, power of God, authority and healing; amateurs and untaught believers continue to abuse this doctrine in the present day Christianity. In the world, even witches, witch doctors and practitioners of all kinds of religious and spiritual crafts, use the laying on of hands in parting or conferring spiritual gifts. Ignorance of the power behind this practice has cost many people their peace, destiny, relationships and even lives; when they submit their heads or bodies for evil hands to be laid on. The Lord, the Only Wise God knows about the implications of laying of hands and would have us rooted and grounded in the knowledge of this principle. The inclusion of this principle in the foundational doctrines of Christ implies that the doctrine has strong significance in our walk with God.
Primarily note that this doctrine is not about the resurrection FROM the dead, but resurrection OF the dead. As other fundamental doctrines of Christ, it is an eternal principle that commenced when Our Lord Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit”. We can then say that the blessing of a seed is in the fruit that it bears after the process of death! Jesus Christ became the seed that died for the church to be revealed and many sons brought to glory.
One may not be able to understand the resurrection of the dead if he/she does not understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That gospel has a beginning as written in Mark 1:1 “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God”. Permit me to say that the gospel of the Son of God began in the day that Satan first heard it at the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve fell. God said to the serpent; And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between ty seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel. That Seed of the woman is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Seed of Abraham (Gal. 3 vs 29); who came as the son of man, was planted (died and buried), rose from the dead and took the keys of hell and death from Satan (Rev. 1 vs 18) and spoilt principalities and powers (Col. 2 vs 15). He is called the first born from the dead (Col. 1 vs 18), the first begotten of the Father (Col. 1 vs 15; Heb. 1 vs 6) and God’s only Begotten Son (Jn. 3 vs 16). To bring many sons to glory (Heb. 2 vs 10), the ONLY Son of God had to die and resurrect from the dead; herein lies the power of Christianity and the hope of our Faith.
Read this book and understand why the enemy does not want you to know the mystery of your identification with Christ. Therein lies the power of Christendom.
Eternal judgment is the tool that keeps believers in check of their hearts and minds. Unfortunately, due to insufficient understanding, there are individuals who believe that one day, at the end of time, God will judge all their sins. Therefore, if they could commit all the sins that they would love to commit and repent before they die, God will judge only those sins that they committed after repentance. While some others believe that if they commit so much sin that should infuriate God, He will throw them into Hell with so much strength that they will bounce out of hell into Heaven. Others believe that on the last day, God will weigh their good deeds and the bad deeds, and if the good outweighs the bad, God will allow them into Heaven and vice versa. Most people believe that eternal judgment has to do with the end. But the big question is; what is the meaning of the word eternal? Eternal judgement begins from here and now. It involves weighing our thoughts, words, and issues on the scale of God’s Word and/or Spirit, in order to make far-reaching decisions about what is right or wrong.
Eternal judgment as a doctrine includes

Righteousness is a huge issue in the Kingdom of God but unfortunately, many people neither understand nor seek it. A basic understanding of the concept will go a long way in helping believers achieve the purpose of God for their lives. Children for instance, by the reason of their birth or adoption to a family, have inherent righteousness to relate with every member of that family. Spouses, by the reason of their espousal to one another, have the righteousness to relate intimately with each other as well as interact with their respective in -laws. Friends have righteousness to freely relate with one another.
Ignorance of God’s righteousness leads to busyness to create self-righteousness. Righteousness as we know is the right to stand before a Holy God with no sense or feeling of guilt and/or inferiority. However, because of sin, it is impossible to stand before God in righteousness, hence the labour by those who do not understand and accept God’s righteousness. In the individual quest for righteousness, we allow certain things we do to make us ‘think’ that we are acceptable before God. For instance, a person may think that by going to church, doing good works, showing themselves to be helpful, praying, fasting, and all sort of such things may help us access God.
